Fresh sod needs consistent watering right away. Use this simple guide to help your new Kentucky Bluegrass sod establish strong roots after pickup or delivery.

Water Immediately After Installation

New sod should be watered as soon as it is installed. The sod and the soil underneath should be thoroughly moist so the roots can begin establishing.

Do not let fresh sod dry out, especially during hot, sunny, or windy Calgary weather.

First 2 Weeks After Installation

The first 10 to 14 days are the most important. During this period, your goal is to keep the sod consistently moist while the roots begin to grow into the soil below.

Water 2 to 4 times per day depending on heat, sun, and wind.
